Hi, I’m Barb. I’ve been blessed to have a 19-year old son Camren who is in his first year of college and a five-year-old niece Sherry who is in Kindergarten. I love children and have been teaching since I was 16 as a sailing aid for the Sandwich Rec. Department. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, swimming, traveling, and being a mom & aunty. Throughout my years of teaching one thing I have never changed is teaching the children to treat others with love, kindness & respect. My Golden Rule is to treat others the way you would want to be treated!
With 20 years of experience as a Montessori Lead Preschool teacher, I approach each day with enthusiasm and a desire to impart a love of learning in my students. No one can “teach” a child. We guide them through the learning process, supporting every child as they learn to follow their hearts, interests and guide them through this special time of growth. The most rewarding part of teaching is seeing the world through a child’s eye and watching them grow into their unique self. I am thrilled to be a member of the Bayside Montessori Preschool team and getting to know our families and new friends.
Hello, I’m Miss Jess. I was born and raised in Brazil and moved to Cape Cod when I was nine years old. I graduated from UMASS Dartmouth in 2014 with a dual degree in Women’s Studies and English Writing. Since 2010, I have volunteered as a teacher assistant, an activity leader at a women’s shelter, and as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2016, I began working as an early child care teacher and have experience teaching ages 1.5 through five. I find this field very gratifying as I am able to inspire, guide, and witness young children during their most crucial years of development as they discover their abilities and shape their identity. Children are amazing and unique human beings, worthy of all our respect and patience as they learn at their own pace to reach their potential.
